Installation error with Davinci Resolve Studio 16.2.4

Hello,

I just bought 2 licenses of Davinci Resolve Studio 16.
After starting the setup, I always get this error:

"DaVinci Resolve Setup Wizard ended prematurely because of an error. Your system has not been Modified. To install this program at a later time, run Setup Wizard again. Click the Finish button to exit the Setup Wizard."

I also tried 16.2.3 as well as version 16.0 which was delivered on the SD card.
I tried on several PC´s running W10 Education 1909 or 2004 with i7/i9 CPU and at least 16 GB RAM.
This is really pain in the neck...

Update: I extracted the ResolveInstaller.msi from the cab files, so that I can try installing it with verbose logging enabled:

Sadly, only code 1603 is returned. Nothing really informative...

What´s the problem? Isn´t there an error log which could help?

Hi tuxhater,

I'm facing a possibly related issue, doing a 16.2.5 install, the free version, and I get an error asking for "installation CD or other media" and relating to the absence (apparently) of either or both of a veInstaller.msi or ResolveInstaller.msi files,

did you get anywhere with your problem?

I also contacted the technical support via email, but the response was not really satisfying.
So I tried myself a lot to get rid of the problem. Our environment constists of a Windows domain with network users with roaming profiles, so I tried to install Resolve Studio with a local account and it worked great. In my opinion the Resolve installer has a problem with the roaming profile path.

Have you already tried to install the msi file with verbose logging?
"msiexec /i ResolveInstaller.msi /quiet /l*v c:\temp\log.txt"
