For me, first serious bug in DR17

Duplicating a timeline whether on the media page or the edit page causes a crash everytime. Timeline is not duplicated.

Only workaround is create new timeline and then copy contents. This isn't a perfect workaround however because the track settings, etc are not copied this way.

I can't reproduce this in Studio 17 for Windows. Duplicate works fine.

I do use a Timelines bin. That has made a difference in the past.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

I just tried as well (not using timeline bins, everything in Master) - Resolve Studio 17b1, Windows 10 20H2

I got distracted and didn't complete my thought, lol. Yes - it works just fine whether I use the media page or the media panel on the edit page.

Eric,

A link to a log archive would help.

Thanks

No problem duplicating timelines here.
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.

As mentioned by Shrinivas, please capture the logs and send us. Also, if you can send us a copy of the project which shows this issue, we can take a look.

Because the BMD developers have asked, I wanted to follow up on this and apologize for the delay. What happened was I tried 3 times to duplicate a timeline in an existing project from DR16. Each time resulted in the program hard crashing.

After the first two times, I rebooted the computer and started from scratch with the same result on the the third try.

It was at this point that I posted because the problem was repeatable. I copied and pasted into a new timeline and went on about my work.

I have since tried duplicating timelines in the same project and others and it has worked flawlessly. Not a single issue. Not sure at all what to add other than the timeline that was causing the problems was a simple stringout of shots. No Fusion, No Texts, just cuts of video and audio.

Bumping this thread because this is happening to me consistently in Studio 17 and 17.1. No log to include since I have it set up that error reports are sent automatically. I've tried to attach my project file here, but every time I hit "add file" the page just refreshes without attaching the file, and I have to type my message all over again.

Yet another "crash" that keeps happening :D

I'm on a Macbook.
