Camera Op/DP needed for workshop this evening (London)

PostFri Aug 09, 2013 9:41 am

Hi,

I've been putting together a new way to get filming. Currently called Acting/Directing Workshop for Cinema, but rapidly evolving to something bigger. It's free for crew and a nominal amount for actors, directors, and writers. Any and all proceeds go to Cancer Research UK.

The events are not only a way to workshop/rehearse feature production but also a way to network and get to meet people you like working with, start new projects together etc.

This evening my DP can't make it due to sudden illness. And this evening we got a challenging shoot involving steadicam, shooting on a BMCC MFT with Nikon G Metabones Speed Booster, with various lenses. We have studio lights, follow focus (with range stops), steadicam, lenses, rig etc.

What I'm wanting to achieve for an original scene involves keeping the background slowly moving in either direction whilst the two actors are having a go at each other in the middle. I'll grade and edit it, we're going for as good as cinema and you can have it for your showreel.

So if you can make it this evening in London (Blackfriars), email me ASAP on workshop*at*nonmultiplexcinema.com

Cheers,
Jules

P.S. replace the *at* with @

I should add that don't worry if you've not done steadicam or used the BMCC before as long as you think you can pull the shots off or get close. It's a relaxed atmosphere and be also a lot of fun.

Anyway, the main point of the workshop is to practise, learn, get better, and see the results, and you'll have plenty of time to do it.
