I like the remote-control capability of the canon cameras by tablets and smartphones via DSLR-Control-App.

It will be fantastic to have this on the BMPCC. Will it happen?

Not for any current BMD camera but did you see the recent leak that Sony has planned some lenses that will enable all kinds of image information including the image (not just metadata) to be displayed on an app? They're building it into the lenses that will be released on a couple of new cameras.
