Control Panels Setup missing files in 17.1 beta7 (Apple M1)

PostSat Jan 30, 2021 6:00 pm

The application "DaVinci Control Panels Setup" starts up, before a white window pops up in the screen stating "Bad Install" "Your software installation has become corrupted and is missing some components". Did a reinstall of beta7 ontop of beta 7 and it made no difference.

This was working without any issues in beta5 and beta6.

A Speed Editor keyboard was connected (tried both wired and bluetooth on/off), and again disconnected (no LED's lit, no USB connection). No difference.

Same behaviour as before. I used "Uninstall Resolve", redownloaded "DaVinci_Resolve_Studio_17.1b7_Mac.zip" and reinstalled. First thing I clicked on, when the installation was complete, was the DaVinci COntrol Panels Setup app, which returned "Bad Install"

To clarify, this is the DaVinci Resolve 17.1beta 7 Studio installation.

Still the same behaviour in Beta 8 and now Beta 9 of the Studio install of DaVinci Resolve 17.1 for Apple M1. A complete uninstall was done using the "Uninstall Resolve" before reinstalling the new beta version.

I've just wiped my Mac Mini M1 (i.e. a completely reset clean install including formatting the SSD drive), upgraded to OSX Big Sur 11.2.2 and installed DaVinci Resolve Studio 17.1 beta 10 - I.e. this computer has never had DaVinci Resolve installed.

The first thing I did was click on DaVinci Control Panels Setup, and received the same error message "Bad Install" "Your software installation has become corrupted and is missing some components".

Could you please respond as to the plan of action for this installation bug? Thanks

Dean, I'm in the EXACT same boat as you on this. I'm surprised this thread didn't go any further. I came in here to kickstart it a bit.

Can we please get a solution to this?
