Audio Problems - Studio V17-V17b8

PostSat Feb 06, 2021 11:52 pm

(Only since Beta 17) I have audio stutter and choppy playback in Fairlight. Hardware wise nothing have changed.

The most obvious bug is that I can't hear the audio from pre-listening in the Sound Library. BUT if I click on the Windows Desktop while playing back (I'm in dual monitor mode with 3 monitors) I can hear the the sound! What could be the problem? (all windows audio settings checked...)

Hardware:
Ryzen 5950x / 64GB
RTX 3090 FE
Motu M4

***SOLVED***

PCIe 4.0 caused the issue. Setting PCIe slots to PCIe 3.0 in the BIOS solved the problem.

Well, I'll be. Changing PCI from 4 to 3 solved my issue. Thank you for posting the fix.

For future records: For me it was only in the Fairlight page through the audio interface. Would effect playback across other apps as well even with all tracks muted. However, playback would be smooth if the audio was sent through my video monitor speaker via hdmi. This change also improved playback in the edit panel.

Ryzen 5900
