Exporting with Render Cache Images

PostFri Mar 05, 2021 5:37 pm

Hello everyone,
most of the times, due to too many regulations (or just because the NR effect is taking a lot of Ram) I cannot totally finish to export a full timeline ("export clip failed").

I found out that if I render the whole timeline as "Smart" option, becoming all blue, than I can export with the "Use render cache images" setting.

Is exporting way quicker, but also doing a file quite small in size.
Is this effecting the quality too? I guess so, but I'd like to know something more about,

Thanks!
P.s. if you also have any clue about failed renders with Noise Removal fx, and have a turnaround to trick Resolve without undoing the fx, would be great!

You could try doing the render in two passes, the first with NR and some of the grades then the second pass with the rest of the grades, you need to organize your node tree so they both add up to the right look at the end.

Render in Place is a new feature in 17 which can often be helpful where difficult to process effects are used.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

I see, but when I render in place and then export I have such a way smaller file than the original export without rendering, is this effecting the quality?

Render in Place will not have any impact on the file size of your export at all. That will be determined by the duration of your timeline and the bitrate used for the export.
