Proxy Timeline Resolution breaks text rendering

PostTue Mar 09, 2021 8:51 pm

I have this piece of text that has an outline and I have also changed the line spacing. Changing the proxy timeline resolution makes this text render completely differently and not just with a lower resolution.

Here are screenshots of the issue with the correct appearance in full resolution:

...and in half resolution:

If you're rendering out, I would advise turning off the Timeline Proxy Mode.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

When I'm rendering, this problem does not happen since the proxy mode is ignored. This only happens while working. The problem is: what you see is not what you get.

Got it.

I have seen other oddities regarding Timeline Proxy Mode. Until everything is smoothed out, maybe try other techniques for improving performance. Cache, Optimized Media, real Proxies, Decode Quality.
