I'm running Resolve Studio 17.0 build 39 on MacOS 11.2.1 running on a 2018 iMac Pro with a 3GHz 10-Core W, 64 GB of memory and a Vega 64 with 16GB of memory. GPU mode and selection are both set to "auto", speaker config is "system setting" (a Motu M2),
My media is 4K 29.97 from a Sony FS5, stored is on an external Thunderbolt 3 SSD that reports 100% green on the Blackmagic Speed Test (1866 write / 2363 read)
Any time I do anything in on the edit page then go back to my timeline and hit "play", it hesitates for about five seconds, plays the first ~15f, then hiccups for another three seconds and garbles through the playback until it "catches up" with the time that's passed since I hit the space bar. This happens consistently anywhere on the timeline, regardless of the content that is playing back, the complexity of that part of the timeline, and regardless of timeline settings (zoom, thumbnails, etc). I have no external video devices at play aside from a clean feed going to my second display. The issue happens regardless of if that's enabled or not.
Logs are attached. I cannot share the .drp file. Here's a video instead.
Everything else is fast. Coloring is fast, scrubbing is fast, effects are fast, exports are fast. Activity monitor is reporting about 32GB of memory usage and minimal CPU usage. No other intensive apps are running on the Mac. Playback just sucks. After a reboot, I'll get buttery playback for about two minutes of work, and then it's back to this issue.
I'd appreciate any troubleshooting ideas.
