Applying audio effects to single audio clip in group

PostWed Mar 10, 2021 5:08 am

Howdy! Here's my predicament / bug.

I received a poly-wav file from my sound recordist. I synced no problem. When I drag my video into my timeline, I see my video grouped with the boom track, the two lavs, and L/R mixdowns. No problems so far.

I disable the audio clips I don't need by deselecting linked selection and disabling clips. No problem.

Now I'm trying to apply audio effects, both from Fairlight and some VSTs. Deselecting linked selection and applying audio effects to singular tracks in a group does not pipe audio through the effects. The effects appear in the inspector, but no audio is affected by any effect I apply.

Ungrouping the audio, and applying the effect to the clip works. However, I'd like to keep the audio and video tracks linked. Unlinking, applying the effect, and relinking works... until you restart Resolve and none of the audio effects work once again.

Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong? Thanks!

Maybe try removing the tracks you don't need via Clip Attributes as a firs step, rather than Disabling them in a timeline.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
