Deliver page sequence drop down - no AAF handles audio?

PostWed Mar 10, 2021 2:31 pm

hey,

I have davinci 16 and finally tried to use it on a job and has been OK but frustrating at times as it's still clunky to me in some regards but these 2 things are such a time hinderance.

On deliver page (and if you right click a timeline tab in EDIT page) it lists every single sequence in the project. this is absolutely horrible. My project has 50 sequences at least and it's a very small job. no way I could use this on a bigger project. Why can't it list the sequences you only have tabbed open in edit page? these are obviously the ones I want to export. Makes no sense to me.

also, needed to export to a friend for protools and the only way to get handles on audio is to export the video as well?? some of the audio like sfx don't have video. this is completely unacceptable in a professional environment and was very frustrating to say the least just to get a simple prep over to a different machine. should be super easy. Not everyone is going to mix in the box in fairlight.

also, every single time I adjust even a frame it has to render the whole clip, super slow and frustrating. my machine is a little older 2014 imac but this doesn't happen with other programs and doesn't slow me down.

maybe these things are addressed in 17??

i really want to like

17 includes a new feature, you can Disable timelines. (If you're not using a Timeline Bin.) Disabled timelines won't show up in those drop down lists.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
