No images now on 17.1

I have been using the 17 beta with no problem.

I have upgraded to 17.1 and my database seems OK but I am getting no images.



Here are the two files you probably need.

I presume you're referring the clip thumbnails?

If so, check your Timeline View Options. Report back.

I only see that if Simple View and not Film Strip View is selected in the Timeline View Options menu.

Even with the cut tab none of the images are showing apart from the Timelines.

Even when I create a new project and drop a video file into it that I know works I get no image.

I wonder if I have a GPU problem that I was not having with the beta?

It's possible. What GPU and GPU driver do you have?

I think I have found the problem and it is/was GPU.





I had both of the boxes for the Intel HD ticked and with the top one ticked I now seem to be OK.

If anyone has any more to add please do so. I may not be home and dry quite yet!

Interesting that it shows the Integrated Graphics twice. As I use a discrete GPU with the Integrated Graphics disabled in the Bios, I don't have this problem.

Whilst you are around have you ever found the images in a Timeline going Off-line whereas the files which go into them can be seen OK?



That file ending 41 runs as a Source but the Timeline seems to have lost it.

Any clues? I have done that re-link operation but I don't think the file ...41 is unlinked - just its link to the Timeline.

No, I've never had that happen in the four+ years that I have been using Resolve. The only thing I can think of is that Resolve doesn't like something about them.

Charles, I noticed that your discrete GPU is an NVidea 1060 w/ 6Gb VRAM. I'm curious as to how much "can you do" with it before Resolve starts choking?

Doing something else now, Charles, but tomorrow I will see if I can reload a saved version of the project.
