BMD Please check my GPU

PostThu Mar 11, 2021 6:24 am

I posted yesterday as, after not using my DVR beta since January, I upgraded to 7.1

I saw no images but all my folders, files and timelines seemed OK. I posted a message for help. In the end puzzled out that my GPU setting was wrong.

I had both boxes marked Intel HD... ticked. Removing the bottom tick seems to have restored normality.Image

Would you recommend a better setting?

You will probably want to see these two reports.

I am using 17.1 Build 24

Could someone tell me that my lack of image problem seems to be solved and maybe tell me why there are two Intel HD options.

Many thanks.

Hi.

In Resolve the CPU is used to run the app, disk I/O, fusion, compression and decompression of codecs.
Resolve does all its image processing in the GPU on the graphics card. More CUDA/OpenCL Cores are better.

You don't write if you want to edit 4K or HD videos. But 4K videos have 4 times the pixels of HD. And for 4K is the absolute minimum 6 GB of vRam on the Graphics Card, but minimum 8 GB of vRam or more are recommended.

Your link only show the internal Intel(R) HD Graphics 630, No powerfull plugin Graphics Card.

I have not been using an internal Intel GPU since I was testing Resolve version 12.5, before I ordered my Dongle for Resolve Studio. It has very low performance, and is not recommended for Resolve.

Regards Carsten.

Thanks Carsten,

I will speak to my supplier about getting another card.

In the meantime do you have any observations about that GPU setting?

Tony
