Recording new audio POPs every few seconds...arggggggh

PostThu Feb 25, 2021 6:13 pm

In the past I've been able to record a new track in Resolve but for some reason Fairlight (during recording) now pops every few seconds making Resolve unusable for recording.
I have Studio version 17.0B Build 33.
1. Is there a workaround?
2. Is there a version I could switch to that actually works for recording without losing the new Studio features like Beauty?
Thanks!

System spec? viewtopic.php?f=21&t=90190

Does the version 17 release version improve behaviour?

Sorry, I failed to list my system specs: (my Resolve version is Studio version 17.0B Build 33).
System specs:
PC based
Windows 10
Dell Inspiron 5570
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-8130U CPU @2.20GHz 2.21 GHz
120 GB Ram.

BTW, this is certainly not the 'tower of power" that would be ideal for Resolve and I am, in fact, enduring long delays and shaky playback (even with Playback/Timeline Proxy Mode set to 1/4 resolution). Are these system specs above (although they seem to meet the published minima) actually a bit below the actual minimum for smooth response in Resolve?

It's been an ongoing issue for a while.

There are a few suggestions if you do a search.

One thing that works is to generate audio and video seperately, then combine them later on.

Another option for in-program issues could be to create a bounce track that will render an audio file(s) of your clips and add them back into Fairlight

Is nobody else having this problem?
I'm using a widely used and high quality mic (Blue Yeti)
and can't make a simple recording directly into DR without
pops every few seconds.

This is not a fix but I did notice that when I record directly into DR the noise is greatly reduced and often eliminated when I swipe the bus volume to zero (so it doesn't play anything as output while I'm recording; I get my reference feedback from my Blue Yedi mic's monitor output). Not a fix but I've been able to get a little work done.

Does anybody have a real solution?
