Entry point error

PostMon Mar 15, 2021 5:12 pm

"The procedure entry point clGetExtensionFunctionAddressForPlatform could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\gpudetect.dll"

I was working previously in Resolve 17 and it was fine, but now I tried to launch it and this happened. I reinstalled the software, but it still pops up. I tried googling the problem, but I have trouble solving it on my own. I suspect latest w10 patch to mess it up. Any help?

The problem may stem from the K1100m GPU. From version 16.2.7 Resolve uses CUDA 11. To do this with Nvidia GPUs requires one that has a minimum Compute Capability of 3.5. The K1100m has a CC of 3.0. It also only has 2GB of vRAM.
As you say it ran Resolve before, have you checked nvidia.com for the latest driver?
Resolve Studio 20.0 build 49

I suppose, in your case it could be due to gpu or whatever, but i highly doubt it.
I have a W7 64bit system and have been plagued with this Windows bug for about a year now. I've gotten it with Cinema4D etc (so forget the one-off you-have-a-corrupt-download pseudo-explanations).
It's a Windows bug and nobody, repeat nobody, has a fix (despite a dozen videos on YouTube claiming otherwise).
And Micro***t of course doesn't care; indeed it replicated the bug in Windows 10.
Abandon all hope ye who enter here!
