HDR P3 Broadcast preset artifact

PostThu Mar 11, 2021 11:30 am

Hi,
I update the procedures for making HDR programs for Netflix Amazon Disney and I noticed that you must always use the custom mode of color management because Blackamgic's HDR presets generate artifacts.

Watch it on video for 30 days on :

Those are due to heavy math behind the hood going bad. Some overflow issue. I think this is quite typical problem. Maybe report to BM.

Hi
The problem is caused by resizing incorrectly with the Timeline color space in DaVinci Intermediate
If we change the Timeline color space to ST2084 no more problem.
UHD shots in an HD timeline aggravate the concern and less visible in a UHD timeline but still more in DaVinci Intermediate as in ST2084.
Degradation is more or less accentuated with "Apply resize transformation in" when using DaVinci Intermediate.
Blackamgic your turn to improve your color space.
