Color grade a video game

PostTue Mar 16, 2021 9:40 pm

Hi,

I know this is a long shot ? but has anyone done color grading a video game. Trying to achieve a retro look but as the graphics & color pallets vary form game to game, makes it difficult replicate. Tried using LUTS and a bit of free style with varying results, everything I learnt for Davinic is film based of course then adapted which I find surprising with the amount gaming content on YouTube. So just asking what key areas do I need to work on.

What do you mean "color grade a video game"? If it means developing one yourself and giving it a "film look", there's several tools to do so, like Unity's post stack (haven't used Unoty in a while, but I believe it's now part of the graphics parameters).
