DaVinci Resolve 17.1 - Crashes when using eGPU

PostThu Mar 18, 2021 5:25 pm

Hi All, I have just updated to Resolve 17.1 Studio version, and it crashes in every attempt to playback in any project. After running several tests, I figured out that it may be related to using an eGPU as it would playback normally when eGPU is unplugged. However, speed becomes a problem since the built-in GPU is only 4GB.
Is anyone here facing similar trouble?

iMac 2017 - 3.4Ghz Quad-Core Intel i5
40GB DDR4 RAM
Radeon Pro 570 4GB - Built-in
Radeon Pro 580 8GB - eGPU on a Sonnet Breakway Box

PS: The same project was playing smooth before updating.

It works for me with a very similar configuration.

Can you post a very small project for download that shows the issue? So we could try if it's the project or the configuration.
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.
