Sort or Select by Clip Color

PostThu Mar 18, 2021 6:36 pm

Is there a way to either select or sort by clip color in the Edit window?

Sorry for such a basic beginner's question. If there is a way I can not find it.

Thanks so much.

Timeline/Select clips with Clip Color

Thank you for trying to help!

I saw that in the menu but when I select the color of the clips that I want to select nothing happens. Shouldn't it be grabbing all those clips with that assigned color?

Works for me. Maybe post a video to show the problem.

I'm seeing this not work as well in Studio 17.1 for Windows.

Marker color works, clip color doesn't.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

That at least makes me feel a bit better. I thought I was asking Resolve to do something that it could not do.

It's a timeline operation, hence it's in the Timeline menu. If you want to do the same thing in a bin you'll either have to sort it by the Color column or else create a Smart Bin, details in the manual.

Even from the timeline, this doesn't work. Nothing gets selected using the Clip Color options.

Gotcha, I see that now. Sorry for the newbie question.

Ok, I fond the Color Column, perfect.

Thank you for your time and assistance!
