Remove panels?

PostSat Mar 20, 2021 2:58 pm

DR17.1 (Studio) is taking quite a bit of time to start up, mainly (I think) because it is somehow looking for panels that I do not have.

I have the Speed-editor, and that's it.

Is there some options I should tick off to not have to wait so long during application start up? Currently, it takes around 1 full minute to start up.

BMD staff have commented in the forums that the Panel operation actually goes by pretty quick. Resolve is getting hung up on following processes, which aren't listed in the Splash screen.

Ok. Still, is there anything I can do with it, perhaps some configuration setting?

You use only internal drives? No networks?

look for what comes after "panels" on the splash screen?

i have no issues at my end on four machines, so a reasonable sample set
all are:
w10 with latest updates
nvidia drivers are the March 17th, 2021, but usualy a rev behind the latest / greatest
mirrored SSD system drives with nothing but working software (diffrent software on each machine, but all have Resolve and Fusion Studio v17.1 currently)
sys ram is all ecc/server ram, ranged between 48g and 192g
all have dual xeon cpu and beefy psu
no external USB/bluetooth devices that are not proven to be conflict free

in short it would seem to be hardware related, but short of building a workstation class machine it's hard to know where the issues are with out BMD's resources and users sending in logs for them to sort through

and maybe try with all external drives, USB/Bluetooth devices aside from kb/mouse removed, and kill anything and everything in task manager that you can

then try to boot up Resolve, if there's an improvement, add the drives, service and devices back until you locate the conflicting device/ service?
