The export looks different in the darks

PostMon Mar 22, 2021 8:00 am

Hi,
I export my video and it looks bad in the darks. Like in the picture attached.
Does someone know what to do? I tried different exports and couldn't solve it.
In the software, it looks good with no side effects.

Thanks,
Erez

Looking at the image on a computer monitor is like looking at the world through Blue Blocker sunglasses. You don't see thing as they really are.

In the real world, you need to take the sunglasses off.

In the video world, you need to take the video off the computer, and get it onto a calibrated display from a 'hardware player'.

There are two ways to do that.

1. https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/decklink

2. Export and play from media player.

So...take off those glasses and report back.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Ok, good to know.
Using the tools I have right now, is there a way to make the export be better with no arteffects?

Start by not using QuickTime. It has a history of issues.

Choose the ubiquitous MP4. Report back.
