Issue inporting XML from FCPX

PostWed Mar 24, 2021 4:30 am

Hi there,

Apparently, I can't import XML files since I've updated my Resolve pro version into 17. When I export XML from FCPX, into the 2 different versions (1.8 & 1.9 to be sure), none of them are available when I try to import them in Resolve!!
Hope someone can help :| :o/
Many thanks
Xav

Can u zip then post a sample here as that doesn’t seem right? We would have heard of 1000s of users with this issue.

Xavier

Can I check if you're using File > Import > Timeline menu?
(or maybe Media pool > right click > Timeline > Import > AAF,EDL,XML?)

If yes, and the Load-File Finder window still shows fcpxml files as disabled, can you detail the steps you took?

Thanks

Shirnivas,
thank you for your reply. Apparently, I did a mistake when I've chosen the kind of import I made. It works now. Thank you and have a good day

Hi, I've imported an FCPXML to Da V Resolve 17. It's 90mins long. It's suffered a couple of bizarre bugs. On the new Da V timeline the imported footage begins as it should at timecode zero but for some reason it has inserted minus 1hr 29minutes of empty space before the start. The bigger problem is some of the audio has the same file name and timecode as the original but is playing from a different part of the same file (usually from the head). Not great for sync sound. Anyone else had something like this? The XML was exported from FCP X 5.3.4 File interchange 1.7. Cheers,
