Greyscale gradient

PostSat Mar 27, 2021 7:12 am

Hello, I started the courses from Lowepost and I attempted to use the grayscale so I can follow along with the first course—curves. But when viewing it in the color page it doesn’t appear to be accurate or whatever. The waveform and parade doesn’t show a straight line...as it should. There appears to be an arc, when it should be completely straight… Reflecting the curves in the curve window. Also, when viewing the curve window, There is some stuff going on at the top that I can’t figure out. I will attach a couple pictures. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I’m trying to learn and follow along with the courses.

Thanks

Right. I need my stuff to look like that. Also, I don’t know what that stuff is going on at the top of my curves window. Pretty sure that has something to do with it.

Any ideas?

Per other’s instructions, I dropped the greyscale onto my timeline in the edit page and created a compound clip. This is bugging me and I’ve only made it to the first curves course.

What GPU and driver are you using?

Are GPU Scopes enabled in Preferences?
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

I've been having a think about this. That waveform in the Curves window looks a lot like a clocking signal, which of course should not be there.
It's possibly your GPU going bad, or it has a bad connection. As you are on a MBP there is probably no way to check the latter.
