I absolutely love Resolve and how you have 'a billion apps' in one.
* I used to dream of Adobe doing this back in the 90s,
(and they kinda did - but didnt... you could click on an icon to open another app)
The idea first came after I got Maya back around 00' - the whole modular approach was... cool.
Issues I currently see:
As Resolve integrates various apps, (as they were not built from the ground up to function, in tabs, in one app - as it currently does...) there are a lot of redundancy of what can be done in each tab.
For a new learner, or anyone... this can be both confusing if not somewhat annoying.
It makes sense that Fusion has some overlap with Color - if it were still a separate app.
But now its just a tab button away, it would be great to really hone-in, cleanup these pages, and put functions where it makes sense.
* nothing wrong with giving an alternate way of doing something, but its more about the how its done.
To a large extent, it feels as if Fusion was an app that was plugged in... (which it was) but thats not, hopefully, what the end goal will be.
* I get that Fusion peeps will expect certain things to be there, but in all honesty, they still use the standalone app - and if they move over, clicking the color tab isnt asking too much.
Now, I come from an AE background, so Im finding the whole Node thing (unlike the advertisement for Fusion) harder than digging around a timeline.
Teaching my daughter Fusion, (using VFX course), and she shares the same sentiments above.
(Have to say she is quite persistent, and enjoys Fusion... though we both noticed it didnt seem to get the love the other apps did in 17)
Either way... good on you all for making this app - looking forward to seeing Resolve's progress, and hoping for the best. (A lot of tiny glitches with Fusion, I must admit, that I wouldnt get with AE)
