'Deselect all' doesn't deselect keyframes

On the edit page the 'deselect all' command deselects clips. However, if you have a keyframe selected (say an audio keyframe or a motion keyframe), that keyframe remains selected.

This is a problem. If I'm mixing some audio on a clip I'll 'deselect all' after I'm finished. Then I move on to the next task, which could be setting in and out points in another area of my timeline and hitting delete... except because the keyframes are still selected, it's those keyframes that get deleted, not the clip I was trying to delete. This can easily go unnoticed.

That function does refer to clips.

I find it best to follow the pages. Do the audio work later in Fairlight.

Jim, with respect I don’t really need someone to tell me that the thing I need to do isn’t necessary because I can do it another way. I want to do a basic audio mix as I’m editing. The functionality is there on the edit page for a reason. Deselect all should deselect everything, not just clips.

Incidentally the same is true in the Fairlight page - hitting deselect doesn’t deselect keyframes. However, on the Fairlight page if you then mark an in/out and hit delete it will in fact delete those sections and NOT the keyframes. So it’s the same but different. This inconsistent behaviour is a problem and feels like a bug to me.

Deselect all should deselect everything, not just clips.

You can file a Feature Request. That's about all we can do to get changes we'd like to see incorporated.
