Outputing issues, cache won't save

I'm on DaVinci 17.1 and I'm working on a 17 minute 4K project and it has noise reduction on and it currently takes about 7 hours to output it. The problem is that sometimes the computer falls asleep and the output is cancelled, I've set the computer to not sleep but for some reason it still does (it's a new Mac Mini M1). To counteract the problem I rendered color output first (which takes about 7 hours) and then output but I got another crash for some reason and it hadn't saved the cache so I have to re render color cache output again!! It's so frustrating! Why doesn't it just save the rendered cache, is there any way to do this?

I wonder if you'd have better luck trying the "Render in Place" option.

(interesting about the M1 going to sleep, I just put together an M1 system for Resolve so I'll make a note to keep an eye on that.)
