Someone posted a picture in one of the threads, and they had recieved a V17 package that contained just the printed card with installation and serial numbers, so some must have shipped. I recieved mine from a retailer in Australia mid January (ordered early December) and it contained V16, with the serial number card, usb cable and software. It makes absolutely no difference which version you recieve of course. All of the serial numbers work in V17, which must be downloaded either way.

Apologies Roger. When I looked at the forum this morning I mistakenly thought your post was on the last page of this thread.

Ordered mine Dec 6th, it shipped from B&H, and was supposed to arrive yesterday, but FedEx is experiencing "substantial disruptions at the FedEx Express Hub in Memphis," the last place the package was tracked, due to winter storm weather.

I've waited this long. I don't mind waiting a little longer. I'm in the southeast US.

I ordered from B&H on 12/20, and it's still back ordered with no ETA as of 02/26 9pm...

Would love to just get the license code, but seems to have to wait for everything to ship like everyone else - but this is NOT creating a great user experience for a first time BMD product purchase...

BnH will not do the split. I asked.
I am in the Caribbean. So mine has to go to Miami first and then to the island of Curaçao

Where's good to order this in the UK to get the Speed Editor + Resolve Studio? I appreciate everywhere's well out of stock at the mo but I'm wondering where's best to order for least chance of not getting both items.

Hi everyone,

I ordered the a package of DR Studio License + free BMD Speed Editor via http://www.videodata.de (Germany) on 13. November 2021.
I received a Code via email on 25. January 2021, but still no signs of the Speed Editor.

On request the company asked for more patience - do dates available.

Who is the one to blame?
The reseller or BMD itself?

Anyway, it seems the right moment to buy BMD gear is when you see a box at a store.
Lessons learned.

Finally! My turn.
I ordered my Speed Editor with Studio key on December 14, from B&H. It just arrived today March 1.
Included was a version 17 activation card, (of course) the Speed Editor and the USB cable. Good, my PC has no Blue Tooth.

With my Windows 10 system, I first uninstalled my free version (sort of). Studio then would refuse to install, because it said I already had it installed. So, I followed the instructions I got here: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=128283&p=698453#p698453

The install then went well and my license activation worked fine. I have quickly tried a few Studio only features and so far, so good. I then plugged in the Speed Editor and the running Resolve Studio immediately saw it and responded (using the supplied USB cable). A red icon in the bottom of the screen indicated the Speed Editor was charging. A quick play with the buttons and shuttle wheel suggest things are working.

I suppose we might blame the pandemic on this awful delay. I waited out my order with B&H because I wanted to use their promotional financing, was already "waiting in line", and had plenty to learn with just the free version. For those of you still waiting, have hope. They are delivering these and the backlog may be getting smaller. I hate emoticons, but, for the first time, ever, :)

I ordered from Scan in early December and got licence and editor in late January.
That said, I don't know if past experience is a useful indicator of future performance as it all seems so variable.

If I were you, I'd drop Scan an email and ask for ETAs - they're pretty good at responding to emails, in my experience.

I bit the bullet and ordered from CVP last week and it arrived *today*.

Excellent service, had the Resolve Studio 16 Key taped to the box.

Turns out they got a bunch in which fulfilled their backlog so I got very, very lucky. Studio version still has useless audio recording in Fairlight so ADR is dead but I'll hold out hope.

I tried ADR in fairlight last week. It doesn't give an option where to save the files on a project by project basis.Which is a pain. Then there is the problem it doesn't recognise a lot of my hardware (no ASIO drivers? )

I think BMD is still thinking in terms of people using their big audio desks. Even their "cheap" one is $3K where as my 12channel Zoom L12 was only $300. Hopefully as BMD seem to be going for the Mass YouTube market with things like the ATME Mini's and the Speed Editor they may adapt fairlight more for that market.

Many thanks. I found it. I missed it when looking last time it's buried in a huge set-up dialogue. It gives a choice of Video only or audio & video. But no audio only. Strange that.

Just to really piss you off.... I ordered mine the day it was announced in November and got it weeks ago in January :-)
I think because I ordered from proav.co.uk who are not listed as a main BMD distributor in the UK they only had a small back order list I think I was number 9 on the list. So I got mine in the first or 2nd drop whilst those who ordered from a main distributor (Scan?) who had 100's of back orders are still trying to fill their list.

I did see that B&H is closed till April 5th due to Passover Holiday.
So I must wait for a few more.
Maybe I will have to order something extra lol

Talking to some in the Electronics industry there is a shortage of a LOT of components. MCU's in particular. One MCU has gone from $4 to $40 per unit in the last 9 months. Others are reporting shortages at any price.
So the slow supply it is not entirely BMD's fault.

Yup look at : https://octopart.com/search?q=STM32F072 ... UR&specs=0

which is stock level for the exact STM32 micro used in the speed editor ... all reputable distributors (avnet/arrow/digikey/farnell/mouser/..) are out of stock. The only stock listed are from "shady" surplus stock (which sometime are just lying about having stock ...) and at insanely high prices, definitely not something I'd consider for a production run.

The SMT32 was one of the parts specifically mentioned to me by several companies using them. I should note that the problems seem to be across the board and not just STMicro that is affected.

You do know Resolve 18 is out next month and it only works with Speedy Editor (not Speed Editor).......
:-) OK... not as far as I know. Though by the time some get their delivery......

As noted it is not entirely BMD's fault that is a huge silicon shortage at the moment and some companies will be assessing if it is worth carrying on production of some things even if they can get the parts due to the price rises in components.

Interesting times.

I ordered 17 Studio and the Speed Editor from B&H on December 31st (yes in 2020 for those of that think that it literally is taking forever for orders to be fulfilled). Just heard that mine shipped today, and should be in my hands this weekend. I guess patience really IS a virtue...

I bought mine at B&H on January 17th and it arrived today here in Ireland, both DaVinci and Speed Editor :). It was a day late as B&H sent it to the wrong city with the same name but in another county . Very happy anyway :D.

Mine is now doing the last 2 stops before reaching my hands.

It left Miami this morning (if the tracker is right).
So Hopefully I will have my speed editor by tomorrow.

Loving it. I am learning bit by bit but I edit a dance video in literally half the time.

Only thing I wonder is if I can always put like Cam 2 on track 2 and cam 5 on track 5

That sounds useful.... A LOT of people have been asking about redefining the CAM keys. I only have 3 cameras so being able to assign CAM1 to go to Track one etc and CAM4-9 to "other things" would be great.
