Features that I would love as a visual effects editor

I've worked for two decently sized VFX companies doing VFX editing and pipeline development. Both seem to want to use Resolve more because of the powerful color management, solid CDL/LUT workflow, and ease of use.

But both as of now are using The Foundry's Hiero because Resolve doesn't have the flexibility to establish custom workflows in the way that some other software does, and then we have to deal with switching back and forth between multiple programs.

I think Resolve could easily capture this market (not huge, but there's a decent number of VFX companies that would love this) if the following things were added:

Custom timeline shot names - A lot of editors have this, we want to be able to rename shots no only in the mediapool, but have custom names per shot on the timeline. Every VFX shot needs a different name and renaming in the media pool doesn't work if you have multiple shots using the same take.
More Python API Functions! - Obviously Blackmagic can't make every feature the community asks for - so give the community the ability to make our own tools. The API has improved a decent amount over the past few years, but it's still extremely limited compared to other software. In particular 1) No ability to get currently selected clips in the bin/timeline. 2) No ability to force conform timeline items (version up and down VFX shots) with media pool items. 3) More timeline editing functions! Let me place clips on specific tracks, with specific timeline/source in/out points! Let me write code that could theoretically 'edit' my video for me!
Data Burn-in tags in the text tool - This would be great for automated slates/custom burn-ins with more specific styling/positioning than the burn-in tool will allow. Let me make a text tool that generates a slate with %Timeline Name% and %Current Date% (Doesn't exist yet) so all of my exports are labeled correctly without me thinking about it!
Python Events - It would be incredible to register callbacks in python with 'events' in resolve, so code could automatically be triggered by certain actions. New Project, Project Save, Item added to render queue, Switched to color tab, added items to media pool... For instance - Wouldn't it be great if I could register a callback to a 'New Project Created' event, so every time I make a new project, it automatically creates a template Media pool bin structure for me, and creates a new timeline with today's date?
Custom burn-ins/keywords The ability to use the burn-in keywords on the Delivery tab is GREAT. This lets us set up export presets that automatically sort exports into different folders based on metadata. Wonderful! It would be great if there was some way to register a callback in python, so we could take this further and make our own export keywords based on our custom pipeline.

Now, obviously I'm thankful for the progress that has been made - The recently added LUT and CDL manipulation functions in python have been incredibly useful, along with better ability to manage/queue up renders. All of this has been great, but these are just some things I noticed are holding resolve back from being a truly great tool for VFX editors specifically.

There is a separate forum for Feature Requests.

Best practice is to search first, to see if someone already asked. If not, post one idea per thread with a very brief description of the idea in the thread's title.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
