Grids on Timeline and Render Clips

PostWed Apr 21, 2021 10:27 pm

Cross-hatching or grids are showing up on my clips. They appear only on fully desaturated color files. Has anyone seen this before?

I don't see anything.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Possible Fixed Pattern Sensor Noise

There are distinct vertical and horizontal lines present. I sent it to Joey D'Anna and he believes it may be Fixed Pattern Sensor Noise.

Hi Jay,

that looks like noise to me. And notice that the crosses only appear in the areas, where there are white clouds (or at least they are more visible). I'm assuming that's the compression doing it's "magic". Which camera did you record it on? What was the ISO? Which lens? To me it looks like unclean footage. I mean, filming a dark sky and hoping to get a clear shot with just moonlight, unless shooting with an A7SII on 40k+ ISO, is damn near impossible.

Does the footage look like that without editing or after the edit?

Cheers,

Dawid

Low light noise, to me. I don't see any specific pattern to it.
