Auto Sync Audio

Hi,

thanks for letting me in. I'm the new kid on the block. After 12 years of FCP7 and FCPX I've finally come to the conclusion that a change would be necessary

First newbie question is about the Auto Sync Audio function.

Yes, I managed to Auto-Sync my boom track to a video track ... still, when I go to Fairlight, I can only see the synced boom track and not the original audio from my video track? What am I doing wrong?

When you sync clips in a bin, you have the option to replace or append the new audio.

Sounds like you chose the former.

thx for the reply. I synched the boom track to the video on the "Media" page ... but wasn't shown any options while doing so ...

Yes, I know this box ... and I chose "Based on Waveform" and it syncs perfectly but nowhere am I prompted to choose if I want to keep the original video-track audio, it just gets muted.

That choice removes the original audio.

The Append options will keep it.
