Fairlight bug - renaming clips for bounce to disc

PostSat Apr 24, 2021 9:01 pm

When I bounce a clip to a new track, I select the clip and can either use "Name Clip" on the FAE or right click on it and go to Clip Attributes to give it a better name than "FL_Bounce_2021_...".

However when I then bounce this Clip to Files, telling the bounce popup to use the Clip Name, it bounces to disc with the internal Fairlight clip name ("FL_Bounce_2021_...etc"), NOT the Clip Name I've given it.

This seems to be broken, and does not work the way the manual describes or this user would expect ;)

Also, the clip name displayed in the Timeline does not change either when renaming a clip.

The "Bounce Clip to Files" function with Resolve Studio 17.1.1 on macOS always uses the Clip Name, regardless of whether that Clip was named within Resolve's UI or via the Fairlight Audio Editor.

Audio Clip renaming is also functional with Resolve Studio 17.1.1 via Clip Attributes in Resolve's UI or via:
Fairlight Audio Editor > Edit megamode > Clip Menu > Export Clip.

Also, the clip name displayed in the Timeline does not change either when renaming a clip.
Fairlight Menu > View Clip Info Display > Clip Name

Ensure that View menu > Show File Names is disabled.

That fixed that issue, thanks,
