DR 17 GPU memory my fix

PostMon Apr 26, 2021 7:38 am

Hey Guys,
I just wanna share with you my fix for GPU MEMORY FULL issue. That’S my work around for it, and maybe it helps you too!

To my case:
DR 17.1.1 studio
I got an almost max out workstation with 128gb RAM, 10 gb VRAM and i9 cpu, 4tb m2 ssd so on.
My timelines are always super packed with 25 layers, fusion comps (3d model, animation, 2d comp, glow, name it) + 10 grading nodes (motion blur, denoiser, stabilizer, contrast color name it)

long story short > heavy duty situation

My „hack“

- render cache, smart
- on the clips right mouse, Render cache color (forcing to great a cache line)
- deactivate the grading nodes with Motion blur, Denoiser or other openFX first
- deactivate ( by pressing D) let davinci cache one by one each fusion comp clips.

> let it cache until everything is blue then turn on all grading nodes again.

As soon everything is blue, there is no playback or render issue.

I hope it can help u guys!
