Hi,
I have some serious problems after installing the Resolve Studio 17.2 update on my Windows 10 pc.
At first everything went fine. After starting up I was greeted with the message that my BM Speed Editor needed a firmware update and that after clicking ‘ok’ the Resolve control panels setup program would start up. But nothing happened. For the rest Resolve 17.2 was functioning ok.
I found out that the Control Panels setup program failed to install. Every time i tried ti install it, a message pos up that the control panels program could not be installed.
I searched on the BM forum and found out that other people also had experienced this problem on Windows.
On this post, I found a possible solution:

So i repaired the 'Microsoft visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable. After that Resolve still starts up fine but after that the program is almost unresponsive. After every mouseclick the program hangs for about 10-15 seconds, then responds for about a second and so on. Feels like a very slow video card(?)
I uninstalled and reinstalled the program (including visual C++ 2015-2019) a couple of times, but everything still is the same. Same if I reinstall version 17.1. Did some registry cleaning, reinstalled the videodriver. But nothing seems to help.
All the other programs on my PC (Adobe Creative Cloud, Cinema 4D, Office etc) are working fine.
Before this happened, Resolve was working very fast and stable on this machine.

AMD Ryzen 3900X
MSI. X570 Prestige Creation motherboard
64 gb Ram
MSI NVIDIA RTX 2070 Super with latest NVIDIA Studio driver
Windows 10 Professional, latest version

I already contacted BM support, got a ticket number, but still no reaction after a couple of days

My fix was to go to control panel, apps and functions (translated from norwegian, not sure if that is the name in english), find the last version installed of the 'Microsoft visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable *'-file (mine was updated between last time I used Davinci Resolve and when I got the problem) - repaired the file and started Davinci Resolve OK.
