Reached Limitations

PostMon Mar 08, 2021 7:14 pm

I recently downloaded DR17 after 3 map animation and a few practice edits it says i have hit a limit and will no longer let me do fusion tab. "You have reached a limitation with DaVinci Resolve" in bold then it goes on to tell me of studio for $299. then 2 tabs "not yet" "Buy now" is there a edit limitation with 17?

It's saying that you're using a feature only available in the paid Studio version. You can continue using all the features of the Free version without issue.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

I'm getting this same error when trying to open a previous project (from last year done in r16).

I have the paid Studio version (using a USB dongle) and am working without issues in a current project, just can't open or import the old.

Provide a screen shot of the DaVinci Resolve - About DaVinci Resolve screen.

And also a screen shot of the error message with the old project.

Actually my issue ended up being that the free version was installed by mistake and I guess I didn't have any Studio-only features in my current project.

I download from the support page (not sure if there's a better way) and must not have scrolled down in the box to see there's a separate file for Studio.

I find how the products are named can be confusing... without the free version indicated in any way other than already knowing or remembering that "Studio" means paid. Both on the downloads but also the app itself (splash screen, title bar, etc). I wasn't aware that it had to say "Studio" and assumed I had installed the paid version installed and running.
