DaVinci Resolve 17 free version will not install

I have been trying to install Davinci Resolve 17 (free version) for 5 days now and have been unsuccessful. I am coming up from Davinci Resolve 16 free version. The File downloads with no problems, I unzip with no problems. When I run the installer it installs Davinci resolve 17 but then I get stuck on installing the extra components. I get this message saying "Failed to install Visual C ++ 2015-2019 x 64 Redistributable. Continue with other components.

I have adequate disk space. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software only to end up with the same problem. I have even uninstalled and reinstalled all of the Microsoft Visual C ++ 2015-2019 x 64 program files and still have the same problem, fails to install the required components for Davinci Resolve to operate.

A bit extreme but...it may work.

Clean install of Windows.

I went into setting apps and accessed and repaired the C++ 2013 x64 Redistributable files, restarted the computer. I tried installing Davinci resolve 17 again and got the same result... It won't install.

I am stuck here and puzzled as what to do???

I am at present, backing up all my files from computer to disc and external hard drive and then will perform a clean install of Davinci Resolve.

You could try running installer as admin.

"Microsoft Visual C ++ 2015-2019 x 64 program files": I have received the same message for 17.1 free version. I disregard it because I already have it installed on my desktop I have not noticed any missing features.

I have tried running it as administrator and it still does not install components. I tried installing the HitFilm Express Editing Software installs with no problems. My computer does not need a clean install and is running ok.

HitFilm Express and Resolve are totally different animals. They may both be NLEs but their system requirements and utilization are not the same.

There are multiple build versions of the C++ Visual files. These are what I have installed. Not had a problem with installation of any version of Resolve from version 14 to 17.1.1.

I made a video with a detailed example of the problem faced with installing Davinci Resolve. I'm not giving up until this programme is installed on my computer. Must find out what it is.

If you are still having problems with the Microsoft Visual you can download it from the Microsoft website.

I downloaded the Microsoft Visual from the Microsoft website

and am still having the same problem. I am currently backing all my files to disc then will try one more time with Davinci resolve. If this does not work on my computer, I have a compatibility issue and am going to switch to Premiere Pro. I tried the trial version of Adobe Premiere Pro and it uploaded on my computer with no problems. I downloaded the whole Adobe Suite which is very large and had no problems installing it. I just prefer using DR and love it's colour correcting facility. I need an editor so will have no choice but to use Premiere pro for my editing. I was thinking also to build another computer and try installing DR on it. Expensive but I will have DR
