Timeline speeds up when watching

PostThu May 20, 2021 7:34 pm

I confess this is my first day trying to figure out Davinci Resolve. I have experience with Adobe Premiere Pro and would like to switch to Resolve as I am not happy with the monthly subscription rates of PPRO. Why is it that when watching something on the Timeline it plays for about 1 second and then speeds up considerably. I haven't been able to find any documentation on this. I assume I should be able to watch it in real time just as I do in PPro. I am using the free version until I am sure I want to make the investment. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!!

What kind of media? From what camera?

What project/timeline settings?
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Pseudo-random thought: are you sure you don't just have a speed ramp applied to the clip?

I imported the same files to another project and had the program change the frame rate to match the media. That worked but I would like to know how to see what the settings are and haven't been able to determine that yet. Thanks for the reply!

Have you completed any training for Resolve yet, Gord? I think that's an important first step, the Beginner's Guide at the very least.
