Dell XPS 15 9500 / GTX 1650ti HW encoding FAIL

PostTue May 25, 2021 12:17 pm

Hello,

first of all, sorry for my bad english, but this is not my motherlanguage. ;)
Iam using DaVinci Resolve for many years now, and iam happy with it. Now i bought a new DELL XPS 15 9500 for mobile Editing with this config:

- Core i7 10750H
- 64GB RAM
- 3840x2400 UHD+ Display
- GTX 1650ti / 4GB GDDR6
- 1 TB NVMe SSD

I have a fresh installed Windows 10. All necessary Drivers are installed/up-2-date and DaVInci Resolve 17 (Studio) is up to date too. I can import/edit Videos (4K 60FPS) very good. All is smooth and fine. But at the End, when i try to export (i want to use the Nvidia HW Encoder) i get errors. (Export is set to MP4 Container, Bitrate 50MBit), No matter if h.264 or h.265:

Render Job failed as the current clip could not be processed:
Cannot find appropriate codec for encoding the video frame

I can use other tools for conversion and using NV HW encoder, so all necessary things seems to be installed, because they working like a charm.

Of course, i can use native Encoder (CPU) or Intel quicksync... but thats not the way i want to use (i bought this config because of CUDA and NV HW Encoder)

Is there a know fix for that?
