size difference in file export

PostTue Jun 01, 2021 1:44 pm

Hi,

When exporting in the deliver page, I have a choice between "Native" and "Nvidia" which is my video card. I was assuming one was CPU based and the other was GPU, but as I tried both I had very distinct file sizes for the same video clip. Nvidia was much larger. Is this normal?

Thanks

With a more flexible tool like Handbrake you have more control over quality vs file size even with CPU encoding.

Guys, what would be the preferred export settings (format, codec and encoder) for a screening file?

Thanks

Online screening for film festivals. At Filmfreeway, Vimeo and other similar platforms. I was wondering if I could get a master file out of Resolve with the best possible parameters and then convert it using a third party such as Handbrake.

I'm partial to Cineform AVI files for that kind of thing.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Or DNxHR (or ProRes on a Mac). All high quality mezzanine codecs.
