Does the GPU memory full message trash the entire project??

PostThu Jun 03, 2021 4:50 am

I'm trying to finish a simple video. I made the apparent mistake of loading in a large still image, which according to other topics here will activate a bug that brings up the "GPU memory is full" message.

I removed the offending image, and I'm STILL getting that error message!

When that message comes up, does it just trash the current project, meaning you have to start over from scratch, or is there some way to recover?

And after shutting down Resolve, it either restarts as a background process, or refuses to restart at all! WTH??

Its not a bug, the GPU just cant cope with what it was tasked to do.
With system info as per the FAQs id guess its a GPU config issue as to why its not starting.
Did you power the computer off after the GPU aborted?

A lot of users on Windows have the problem of Resolve not shutting down properly and it still running in the background, which is why it wont reopen. You will have to go into Task Manager and stop it there. I don't have this problem and can only assume that some task is still running in the background.
Post your crash logs and NFO so that BM can take a look.
