Random Zooming on Rendered Video

PostSun Jun 06, 2021 3:27 am

Hello all, I'm having a weird issue when I render my footage randomly the video will have moments where it zooms in very slightly like a pop. It does it throughout the rendered video. I'm shooting and rendering 4k 30 fps. Any thoughts? Also let me know what other info would be helpful. I'm pretty new to Davinci. Thank you.

Can you show us the video so we can see the issue?

Hey Jim. Here it is. This happens throughout the entire 10 min video, but I had to drop the resolution to be able to attach the file.

You can't attach it.

No it's taken on a gopro. I just downresed it to show the zoom in issue. This happens all throughout the video. Could it be the stabilizer in Davinci?

If you remove stabilization, does it still jump?

Since that footage shows extreme distortions from slow readout (jello effect), it could well be the stabilizer getting confused.

I'll test removing the stabilizer. I may have to choose between the stabilizer and the jello effect...

You may need to try a specialized stabilizer. Have a look at Mercalli.

Do you all think part of the issue is because I shot this footage in Super Wide angle plus the stabilizer? It's "distorted" footage trying to be stabilized.

I don't know. I just assumed phone footage because the 'jello' was so extreme.

Nope for reference I'm shooting 4k 30fps on an Akaso V50 pro.
