New install will not start

When I click on the Resolve icon I just get a spinning icon circle for a few seconds then nothing. I looked in task manager and there was no process. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but still the same behaviour.

Its a relatively new windows install (about a month), its a Razer Blade 14 2016 with 16GB of ram and a GTX 1060 6GB GPU and an Intel i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz.

Moved to Resolve forum

Try a full install of the GPU driver, not update, that’s currently listed for that GPU.

One thing that may be relevant. I did get the pop up when I first run and Windows is also up to date. clicked continue. It did not start. The next time I tried I did not get the pop-up and it did not start.

I have also set £D settings to High-Performance NVIDIA processor.

Do check your GPU driver. Current Studio driver for the GTX 1060, which I use, is 462.59, and definitely do a clean install of it.

I've uninstalled all Nvidia and resolve and reinstalled Nvidia Studio drivers (not with experience) and reinstalled resolve. Have made no difference.

If you have onboard Intel graphics, try disabling it in Device Manager. If it still wont work post logs and NFO file as below.

Just ahead of you, disabled intel drivers in Device Manager. Its now working. What a palava. Ive been editing for over 15 years and used about 8 different editing systems and they all just work after new install.

OK, got it working, though it would be good to try to summarise what I did to get it working.

1. Uninstall Resolve/all Nvidia drivers/software
2.Install Nvidia Studion Drivers (I used v462.59 (https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/results/175404/) but the latest may work). Do google search for 'Nvidia studio drives' to find the latest stable.
3.Install Resolve
4.Disable Microsoft Display drivers in Device Manager under Display adapters select Intel HD Devices, right Click Disable
5.Start Resolve
