I found a workaround for this issue!
I use lots of motion graphics on my timelines, and it's very (very) annoying that all fusions get the same name and no thumb...
It's a little involved the first time, but after that you may save it in a power bin for infinite reuse:
- If you make an Adjustment Layer and open it in fusion tab, this comp starts in frame 86.400. About 1 hour ahead of Zero. That makes it very impractical, especially if you plan to reuse some template you have (with keyframes placed on, say frames 10 to 15…), or copy paste nodes from another comp or whatever.
So, to make it work you should: - Make a new empty timeline.
- Move the playhead to the 2hs timecode (that’s 1 full hour after the beginning of the timeline, remember that Resolve timelines begin in timecode 1:00:00:00)
- Place an adjustment layer starting at timecode 2:00:00:00
- Open that adj layer in fusion. Check that it worked and the frames are above 80,000
- Go back to the edit page, grab the beginning of the ex-Adj-layer-now-fusion-comp, and slide it all the way to the beginning of the timeline. Now its duration is about 1 hour full.
- Grab the ending and slide it near the beginning, so you have just a few seconds of fusion comp, to make it easier to manage
- Go to fusion and align the playhead to frame Zero so you may trim it.
- Go to the edit page, and trim the fusion comp to the playhead. Check again in fusion that it starts on frame zero. I like to trim it to 5 seconds long too, only to keep it tidy

-
Now in the edit page, in the File section of the inspector, you get a field that allows you to rename the comp. Rename it as you like. - Grab your Fusion Comp to the Power Bins folder to reuse it forever. Or until BM makes fusion comps renamable
(please do it) - Enjoy.
And if you don't want to do all that, I give you the .drp to download:
