Fairlight Audio mix down

PostSun Jun 27, 2021 8:41 pm

I have been looking in the manual but cannot quite seem to find the answer.

If I take a mix that was developed in Fairlight and it's, let's say it's 8-12 tracks big. When I go back to the edit page those same 8-12 tracks are there as well.

Is there a way to have the 8-12 tracks stay in Fairlight, but only a 2 track stereo mix down in the edit page?

Not that I know of. You could have the more complex Fairlight build on a separate timeline, and then export it to a single audio file that you bring into the media pool and use on your "regular" timeline.

If it is just for visual clutter, nest the timeline in a new timeline, opt-click the video and decompose.

Thanks Shrinivas, I'll look at that approach.
