How to import Atmos Deliverables?

PostMon Jun 28, 2021 7:55 pm

Greetings,
going through the different steps from your book "The Fairlight Audio Guide to DaVinci Resolve 17", on page 583, I cannot import the content of the NV Dolby Atmos Folder. The folder contains a bunch of XML and XMF files, but nothing. So I cannot make a new timeline from the IMF file (as quoted on the same page).
Any hints would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Roger,

I haven't read that one, but if you go to the Fairlight tab, then under the Fairlight menu select Immersive Audio, Import Master File... you can select your Atmos ADM BWF file and Resolve will import it, set up the correct bus width and structure based on the embedded metadata. Don't worry about the XML files, Resolve will find those on it's own and use them to configure the session for you.

Hope this helps.

Hi Roger,

The contents of the IMF packages don't look like they would import, but they should. The IMF that you create in the lesson should look something like this.

When you import the IMF folder, you'll get a video clip with a 7.1.4 audio track. Just import directly in the media pool.

Then create a new timeline from that clip.

If it doesn't work, check your settings in the Deliver page and try to export the IMF again.
Cheers - Mary
