Scopes window keep moving back to main monitor

PostSun Jul 04, 2021 4:10 pm

Hi,

Whenever I press my "S" key shortcut to pop up the scopes window (which I like to have on my secondary screen) it moves back to the main monitor. Always. Every time.

Resetting UI layout doesn't fix this. I have tried everything I could think of. Disconnecting monitors, changing resolutions, rebooting, reinstalling Resolve... no luck. Its been like this for months now.

Any ideas? This is driving me mad since I have to move the window to the secondary screen a hundred times a day or just give up and have them docked at the bottom of the second monitor, which its too small for some jobs.

Thanks,

Pedro

Have you changed things in the Keyboard Customization panel? S is normally Trim/ Toggle Slip/Slide Mode. Ctrl+Shift+W is Scopes on/off.

Are you also using both monitors for the main UI?

I have my main UI on a single monitor and leave the scopes on the second one. I've never had to reposition the scopes window, but then I never turn it off.

I'll say this: they fixed the bug from 17.2 where the scopes window kept popping back up after we shut it off. Some of us are using external 3rd party scopes, and there's good reasons to do this: more features, more scope modes, plus it takes all the load off the Resolve system since it no longer has to render a scope image every frame. External scopes are cheap these days, provided you have a separate (older) compatible computer lying around not doing anything else.
