I'm currently stitching together some clips for a really basic video (I'm not adding much other than some transitions)
I've been able to add transitions for most of the clips, but a couple I can't seem to add a transition for.
In 1 instance, if I hover the transition box (I'm using "Brightness flash") over the clip, I don't even get the white containing box to show where the transition will sit.
In the other instance, I get the white box, but it sits flush with the end of 1 clip and I can't get it to span both.
I've tried zooming in to check there isn't a gap, and I can't see one. They also play fine with no visible gap / blank frames.
I'm still new to Resolve (and editing in general) so just wondered if anyone might be able to shed any light on what I may be doing wrong?

Maybe the transition is one where you need to have some "hidden" overlap between the clips. I.e., the clips end and other one's start can't be just be but jointed. They need to overlap.
Not sure that's the problem as it's worked OK for all of the other clips and they're all the same setup.
I've literally butted up about 20 clips in a single timeline (all mp4 files filed at the same time so everything else is the same - same resolution, etc). I then added the "Brightness flash" to each and didn't have any issue with the exception of 2 clips.
I've done exactly the same for each so clip so unclear why these particular clips are acting differently.

I did it myself just to test, not sure if I did it in a different way, but first I was able to make it not work. Just splitting a video so that it didn't have "anything" after and anything before the following clip. The effect did not work. Then I tried similar thing with another clip, but then the effect worked even though I could not place the effect in between the two clips. On both cases I was only able to place it on top of the later clip, not in between.
So I'm not sure why it didn't work and then worked with seemingly similar cases.
There are similar threads every few days from new users, I think the dev team should consider to display the following dialog when the user drops a transition between two clips with insufficient handles.
