Hi all.. I just submitted this feature request.. well, I think I did at least via the "e-mail us" link.. there's no confirmation after pressing the submit button, so.. who knows?
Wondering if this would benefit others here too, and if so, perhaps we could get more support if more expressed interest?
BACKGROUND:
Currently, the ATEM ISO models allow users to select "record ISO" (Y/N) and "record Program" (Y/N). When enabling ISO recording, all 8 input channels are recorded, as well as an additional 8 .WAV files generated for audio.
PROBLEM:
1. There are times we only want to ISO record one or two input channels. Because we can't select which channels to record, all the inputs are recorded requiring faster, and larger disks than we'd otherwise need if we could choose which inputs/channels to record.
2. People want a way to record program (PGM) in high quality. Currently, the PGM is recorded only using the streaming bitrate which, while streaming, is typically set to a low 3-5Mbps. The workaround is to split the PGM out of one of the HDMI Outs, and loop it back into an input channel since the ISOs are encoded using a much higher bitrate (> 45Mbps). Unfortunately, this uses up an input port.
FEATURE REQUEST:
1. allow users to choose which of the ISO inputs are recorded, instead of it being "all or nothing" like it currently is.
2. let users choose the quality of the PGM recording (a) streaming quality (b) ISO quality (or user-definable)
Thank you for considering these enhancements -- I know it would help many, if not all, of your ATEM users.
