Fix for "Crash on Export" problem

PostFri Jul 09, 2021 6:11 pm

I've tried all of the so-called "fixes" for this problem, and none of them worked, but I accidentally may have found one. Under preferences, decode using hardware acceleration, I unchecked that, and, lo and behold, I haven't had a crash since.

My only question, does this affect the quality of the export? It doesn't appear to, and export time isn't being negatively affected, but Resolve has that option there for a reason.

Any advice and responses would be appreciated, but so far it appears I've finally found a cure for export crashes and failures.

Decoding H.264 using the GPU can make editing more fluid on the right hardware. That's the setting's primary purpose.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
