Pluraleyes "XX of XX clips not yet found

PostTue Jul 13, 2021 2:29 pm

Howdy folks,

I was excited when RG announced Pluraleyes would support Resolve. Unfortunately, I have yet to get it to work correctly. Whether I round trip, or start in Pluraleyes, it fails to fully import. The error message involves some or all of the clips did not import. Resolve offers a chance to browse for them, but it fails to find any match. The source media is from three cameras, and unfortunately these cameras don't support timecode.

Would be great to hear if someone has worked this out.

I presume you're doing Multicam?

Correct. Pluraleyes is a multicam sync tool

Alright.

What kind of event are we talking about here? Was it properly filmed (all cameras rolling throughout)?

Three camera shoot. Two cameras roll continuously, but one Sony has a time limit, so some starts and stops. Done this many times, but used a different NLE. It's important to underscore that Pluraleyes syncs everything successfully. The problem is with the loading of the imported project into Resolve.

I can't help with PluralEyes as I don't use it. I was exploring the possibility of getting you working without it.

So, what kind of event?

It's a live performance about four hours long. While I appreciate the effort, I've spent a great deal of time trying to get Resolve's sync to work. It ends up creating a camera/track for each clip. Now, it might work great if you have timecode to sync to. I don't. I have never been able to get it to work for multicam with audio sync.

Pluraleyes on the other hand does it like magic. I did open a ticket with RG just to see what they say.

There is a feature you might not be taking advantage of which will help.

On the Media page, click on one of the Sony clips and open the Metadata panel. Use the arrow menu in the top right of that panel to change the selection to Shot & Scene.

Is the Camera # field populated?

It isn't. So, if I were to populate it for each clip, and select that option in the multicam timeline creator, this would solve the multiple track issue?

It would.

Do that for all clips, though. Not just the Sony's. You can select multiple clips at a time and change them all at once. Just be sure to hit the Save button bottom of the Metadata panel.

You can use numbers or letters for each camera's clips, so long as all clips from that camera have the same.

Well if that works, it will be just awesome. Sadly, I wasted a day manually syncing this project footage. I'd rater bang my head against a wall. I do have another just like it in the queue, and am looking forward to giving this a try. Thanks so much for taking the time to enlighten me. :)

Jim,

Decided to go ahead and load the footage for the next project and give this a go. Sure enough, it worked. Again, many thanks.
