I'm working on a project that has 12 different takes of nearly the same scene, all shot from exactly the same perspective. The scene is nearly 16 minutes long, and I need to jump between each of the 12 takes about every 3 seconds throughout the full 16 minutes.
I know this is an odd setup, and is a strange request, but is there a way to ask DaVinci to split a clip up every n frames? All the footage is at 24fps, so ideally I'd want to split up all 12 clips at exactly every 72 frames, then go to town deleting all the clips I don't need, leaving the jumps between clips that are supposed to stay. The end result is that it should show take 1 for 3 seconds, then take 2 for 3 seconds, then take 3, then 4, 5, 6, ... 11, 12, then back to take 1 and repeat the whole pattern.
I've been using DaVinci for about 3 years, and have worked on some kindof complex timelines, but this is a new stretch for me.
So far the best I've found is to manually move the playhead to the frame number I want to split, do the split, the manually move to the next frame number, lather, rinse, repeat.... more than 300 times.
Is there any way to automate this?
Thanks!
